    In Quebec, anyone who performs or offers to perform pest control work with pesticides must hold a CD5 certificate from the Ministry of the Environment. It is valid for five years. Ask to see it before any work begins.

What a serious answer should include

For a wasp nest clearly visible in a photo, a remote estimate is often possible. For bed bugs, cockroaches or rodents, be wary of a firm price given without an inspection: the real extent of an indoor infestation almost always changes the price.

The written quote should state the method, the number of visits, the preparation required, the time before using rooms again and what the warranty covers. If anything is missing, ask for it before accepting.

The technician who shows up must hold a CD5 certificate from Quebec's Ministry of the Environment. It is a legal requirement for anyone who performs or offers to perform this work with pesticides: ask to see it.
